What a great start!
Since we’ve been back this half-term our learning has got off to a great start. We’ve been working incredibly hard in maths, developing our understanding of place value and number and working on addition and subtraction strategies. In English we have been revising basic sentence punctuation, and we are now exploring different versions of the Cinderella story.
We had a fantastic coffee morning where 8 parents came and joined in with some maths activities in class before meeting Miss Jefferson over a coffee. Thank you to everyone who came.
Here are some photos of what we have been learning:
We have been learning about ‘Building Learning Power’, and how to develop resilience. We went out onto the playground and had to try and shoot the basketball through the hoop. It was tricky, so we had to show resilience to keep trying!
In science we have been learning about the different organs in the human body. We drew around Molly and then tried to place the organs in the correct place!
In geography we learnt how to read maps.
We listened to the Cinderella story and then acted it out!
Cinderella and the Ugly Sisters:
Dancing at the ball:
Does the shoe fit?
The cast:
After acting out the story we looked back at the photos and wrote sentences to retell the story.
Congratulations to Taylor, our new Elm Class School Councillor! Taylor will be attending school council meetings and discussing ways to improve our school.
