Learning about position and direction… and reading superstars!

Today we learnt about quarter, half and three-quarter turns in our maths lesson. We played a game outside using the chess board, where we had to turn a quarter, half or three quarters, or stay put. Then we picked a card which told us whether we had to move 1, 2 or 3 spaces. If we landed on the same square as somebody else we knocked them out! We enjoyed this game so much some of us played it again at lunchtime. We then played a sudden death game, and Charlie O was the overall winner!

Several children in HG have been trying the Road to Rio Reading Challenge, where they have to read a certain numbers of times to get an award. Congratulations to Molly, Charlie H and Sean, who gained their bronze award today!
