The School Grounds We’d Like

For the first two weeks of term, we have been taking part in a transition project, ‘The School Grounds We’d Like’. For this project, we looked at parts of our school grounds that we liked and parts that we thought could be improved. We decided that we didn’t like the tyres in the playground and thought they could be improved by turning them in to garden planters. We would paint them and fill them with soil. We decided that we could plant vegetables, wild flowers, ‘bee friendly’ flowers and herbs. We thought this would improve the look of the school and we could also harvest our produce and sell it to make some money for the school. Our flowers would also help the bees collect pollen and nectar to make their honey.

We made a video to show Mr Burford in assembly, to try to convince him we had a very good idea! Take a look and tell us what you think….
