Larch and Kingfishers Classes

To BEE or not to BEE that is Assembly….

On Charity day, we all came together for assembly at the end of the day. We wanted to celebrate how much everyone gives to support others. We are very lucky at Liss Junior School. There are many ‘friends’ of the school that give so much of their time to help people within our school, in so many ways. We have friends that also give in many other ways, and this really helps life long learning to happen.

Our Year 6 wanted to give to ‘Help The Hero’s’. They worked hard on charity day, and their efforts paid off as they were able to raise a really good amount to give to the charity.

A ‘Friend‘ of our school has shown their support in enabling us to begin our ‘Bee Keeping’ project. We were able to share this news with everyone in our assembly. Eddie was one of the pupils chosen to ‘model’ the Bee Keeping suits that children will be able to wear when they are involved in visiting the hives. Mr Haycock is spending this week assembling 3 hives that we will keep in a safe and suitable location on the school grounds. We are looking forward to working with Mr Stanley and Mr Haycock in our Bee Keeping club. We hope to be able to harvest our own honey in the future. You never know, this may become a feature of a future ‘Charity Day’ and our own Bees can also be a part of our  ‘giving‘ to others!

Also in this assembly, we celebrated other achievements. Ella was presented with her Personal Points Certificate. Well done to Ella!
