Harvest Time! Part 3 – International Bake Off

We took inspiration from BBC 2’s ‘British Bake Off’ and held an ‘International Bake Off’ in HG this week. We split up into 3 teams; The ‘Sweet Potato’ Team, the ‘Blueberry’ Team and the ‘Strawberry’ Team.

We used ‘Sweet Potato‘ in our Technical Challenge as this was the most successful crop in Kafuro, Uganda. We also used Strawberries and Blueberries as these were the most successful crops at Durleighmarsh Farm.

‘Mel’ and ‘Sue’, (Mrs Vernon-Smith and Mrs Van-Dongen) helped us with our Technical Challenge. We made Sweet Potato crisps, a Blueberry Cheesecake and a Strawberry cream on Ginger-snaps. In true Mary Berry/Paul Hollywood style, we decided that the Blueberry Cheesecake was particularly tasty and was crowned ‘Star Bake’ of the week.

Have a look at our photos of THE TECHNICAL CHALLENGE!

Your sweet potato crisps look very yummy but I have to agree that I think the Blueberry Cheesecake would taste the best! You all look very happy while you are cooking.
