Larch and Kingfishers Classes

Our visit to the March Foundation

On Thursday, we had a lovely day in Dogmersfield with Sharon, Gerry and Mrs Glossop. Gerry had planned an ‘Animal’ themed day for us. We began by saying hello to Mrs Glossop’s dogs. We went on a winter walk of the gardens and played some team games. After our snack, we fed the ducks. Part of their pond was frozen and the food we gave them scattered all over the ice. Mrs Glossop helped us plant some primrose’s in her greenhouse. She gave us clear instructions and top tips for looking after them at home. We used Mrs Glossop’s instructions in our literacy lesson on Friday!

Gerry had some animal pictures in the conservatory. We used the pictures to make collages to take home for our families. After lunch in the conservatory, we went on a walk to feed the donkey and horses and to say hello to the chickens. The horses were very pleased to see us with our carrots for them.

Just before we left, we had time to play some parachute games and say hello to ‘Cloudy’, Gerry’s Lion Head rabbit. He was very friendly and enjoyed the attention we gave him. Gerry gave us some instructions on how to look after him.

It was another great day in Dogmersfield that went very quickly!

A message for all in HG – please email or bring in to school, photographs of your Primroses in March. We will be able to see who has followed Mrs Glossop’s instructions and top tips!
