Larch and Kingfishers Classes

Foxlease 2012

We have returned from our annual trip to Foxlease in the New Forest. We had a fantastic 3 days with our friends from Shakespeare Junior School. On the way down, we stopped at Queen Elizabeth Country Park for a comfort break and to stretch our legs. When we arrived at Foxlease, we had lunch and then enjoyed some adventurous activities. We had a go at Archery and a Low Ropes course. After supper, we watched a film ‘Puss in Boots’ before going to bed.

On Tuesday, we made our own packed lunch before we were off to visit the Dorset Heavy Horse Centre. We were able to feed and groom some of the horses, have a cart and tractor ride, and even got to have a go at driving a tractor and some go-karts! Back at Foxlease, after supper, we had a camp fire. We collected enough wood to keep it burning long enough to toast some marshmallows to make ‘S’mores’. We sang some songs and had fun.

On Wednesday, we packed up our bags and the minibus before we walked into Lyndhurst to have our picnic and buy an ice-cream! Then it was time to say goodbye to our friends and return to school.

The weather was really kind to us, and we had a fantastic time away seeing our friends again. Thank you to Miss Powell and Shakespeare Junior School.
